Overview
Ladakh's best-known route, run at a pace that respects the altitude. You spend the first two nights in Leh doing low-effort monastery visits while your body adjusts at 3,500m, then cross Khardung La into Nubra's dunes and monasteries, continue over the Shyok route to Pangong Tso for a lakeside night, and return to Leh through Chang La. Inner line permits, oxygen support in the vehicle and a driver who has run these roads for years are all included. Camps at Pangong and Nubra are the fixed, heated kind rather than tents pitched on gravel.

Arrive on the morning flight over the Himalaya and transfer to your Leh hotel. The whole day is deliberately free — hydration, rest, and at most a short evening walk to Leh market once you feel steady.
