Overview
Two very different halves make this work for families. Three nights in Nainital cover the lake, the cable car to Snow View, the quieter Sattal and Bhimtal lakes and a Mall Road evening. Then you drop to the Terai for two nights at Jim Corbett, where the resort has a pool and a river frontage and the mornings belong to jungle safaris in Bijrani or Jhirna zone. Safaris are booked in advance with a naturalist, and transfers are private throughout. The driving days are short by Uttarakhand standards, which is exactly what travelling with children needs.

Met at Delhi airport or Kathgodam station and driven up into Kumaon to Nainital. Evening on the Mall Road beside the lake, with a boat ride at dusk and the hills reflected in the water.
