Overview
This eight-night grand tour is the most complete way to see the North East in one trip, joining Assam's wildlife and river culture, Meghalaya's waterfalls, and Arunachal Pradesh's high Himalayan monastery town of Tawang. You cross the Sela Pass at over 4,000m, visit the 400-year-old Tawang monastery — India's largest — and the Bum La border viewpoint near Tibet, before descending through Bomdila's orchards back toward Guwahati and on to Shillong's hills and Cherrapunji's falls. The Inner Line Permit for Arunachal is arranged as part of the package. It's designed for small groups and keen travellers with time for a longer, more physically demanding itinerary across three states.

Land at Guwahati and drive around four hours to Tezpur on the Brahmaputra's north bank, a historic town that serves as the gateway to Arunachal Pradesh. Overnight rest ahead of the mountain drive.
